The Council’s vision is for the mobility needs of all to be met with zero carbon options, while integrating all modes seamlessly, efficiently and conveniently.
A future where…
Integrated transport plannings takes the needs of everyone into account, including the poor and the most vulnerable.
The majority of passenger trips are done by walking, cycling,public transport and shared mobility options.
Transport modes are much more interlinked than today, with easy and seamless payments.
Passenger vehicles are all electric and support the fully renewable power system.
Households, especially in rural areas, are producing their own renewable energy, making them independent and cut down on costs.
Freight is largely moved by rail and waterways.
Last mile delivery is provided by electric trucks, vans and bikes.
Logistic companies are much better organised, use joint distribution centres, and use information and communications technology to optimize loads and routes.
